Rural Evolution is about the Central Rural Work Conference’s strategy for rural rejuvenation. Long of central importance, the countryside will be brought into the new era with thriving business, good environment and effective governance and prosperity. The government aims to remodel the relationship between urban and rural areas with integrated development, modernization and rural land system reform.
New Year Resolutions focuses on President Xi Jinping’s New Year address which highlighted his “people-first” principle of improving people’s wellbeing. He called on Party and government officials to place people’s welfare as the top priority and focused on the ongoing poverty alleviation efforts as well as carrying on the spirit of reform to continue progress and realize the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
Food for Thought is a story about recent culinary fads in China and how popularity doesn’t always lead to success. Examples include innovative egg pancakes that led to investment and many locations, but eventually led to unhappy customers and store closures, as well as a sirloin steak chain whose fortunes rose and fell in just a few years that began with prized sirloin steak recipes from a Hong Kong master chef.
